RENA CHENG

I’m a Bay Area–based artist with a passion for film, fashion, and art. 


COSTUME DESIGN: 
From 2009 to 2019, I worked as a freelance fashion and costume designer for indie fashion shows, live-action films, commercials, and various tech companies. My clients included Dolby, Postmates, Sears, and Simply Stylist (LA Fashion Week).


PRODUCTION:
In film production, I’ve contributed to projects at major studios, including:

• Oz: The Great and the Powerful — Walt Disney Studios, VFX Production (2012)
• FireBreather — Cartoon Network Studios, Post-Production (2010)
• Kung Fu Panda 2 — DreamWorks Animation, Editorial (2009) 

I also co-created and production designed Blue (2013), an award-winning animated short film screened at film festivals worldwide, including Cannes. 


CREATIVE TECHNOLOGY: 
In 2016, I joined Nimble Collective, a startup founded by DreamWorks and Pixar veterans. There, I helped produce several animated short films before leading QA for the Nimble Animation Platform. After Nimble’s acquisition by Amazon Web Services (AWS) in 2019, I continued developing and testing animation software tools and workflows used by major studios and creators worldwide.
